Tell us about your business

We are a Mum and Son team (Tara + Noah) who started the business when Noah was 14 to harness his entrepreneurial skills. We left the kitchen table 3 years ago and we now have 3 high street stores of our own, we stock our handmade Freckleface products into 600 UK stockists as well as running a successful online store.

Early on we decided we wanted to run an ethical family business to show our son that it's possible to grow a global business with ethics and kindness at the forefront.

We have grown organically and now employ 50 people and our business continues to expand with more and more handmade products being added every year.

This year we entered into the bath and body arena with our botanical bath bombs and we hope to add more high street stores to our brand over the coming years.

I develop all the Freckleface products and am MD whilst Noah, who is still a director of Freckleface has just launched his own brand of Freckleface ethically sourced and roasted coffee and opened his first coffee shops at just 19 years old!

We hope to eventually open destination stores which include Freckleface products for you and your home, a Freckleface coffee shop and a plant / gift shop all in the same building to make shopping for gifts an ethical yet luxurious experience.


Tell us about the products you have entered?

We have entered our pick-and-mix wax melts into the competition as they are a new concept to the home fragrance market. We are the only brand manufacturing over 4 million pick-and-mix wax melts a year whilst continuing to be plastic free and affordable.

Our pick and mix wax melts are now in the top 3 best sellers for most of our stockists who report that customers come back into store monthly for their Freckleface fix which in turn drives other sales! During lockdown the home fragrance market boomed and savvy consumers were looking for ethical brands to fill their homes with fragrance. Customers love the joy of choosing their own fragrances into our elegant tubes and with 20hrs of fragrance from each wax melt which retails for just £1.25 those savvy consumers are moving away from the market leaders.


Why did you choose to enter the GOTY competition? have you entered in the past and has it helped your brand grow?

We are new to the gift industry and the competition is a great way to shout about our rapidly growing brand. We have seen great success at the UK trade shows and we see this as another chance to reach our influential trade buyers.


What other products will you be bringing to market in 2023?

2023 is an exciting year for Freckleface. We will be expanding our home fragrance range into Europe after seeing great success here in the UK. We will also develop a new bath and body products and build more products into our popular calm and unwind range. Calm and Unwind is a range of products which incorporate our own unique blend of essential oil to aid good mental health with 10% of profits going to mental health charities.


We will continue to expand our manufacturing facility here in Lincolnshire so we can continue to make all of our products by hand.
