Wildflower Grow Kit

Seedball

Two vibrant tin planters containing coir soil and seed balls - everything you need to grow a wildflower pot, simply add water.

Available in two varieties - Chamomile and Forget-me-not. Each tin includes a coir disc made from coconut husk (a peat-free, renewable byproduct of the coconut industry) which expands when water is added and makes for a super compost. Also included are 3 seed balls (approximately 90 seeds in total) to pop on top of the hydrated coir. The tins can be kept outdoors (a special varnish helps to slow down the rusting process) or a sunny spot on an indoor windowsill. Keep the balls and soil well hydrated (but not too soggy) and in time you’ll have a lovely pot of wildflowers. User instructions are included on the card sleeve.

The seed balls are made from native wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder, which together help to protect the seeds before and during early growth. Seed balls are brilliant for general gifting as they are easy to use without the need to be experienced at growing from seed. They appeal to people who enjoy wildlife and the outdoors, sustainable living, 'growing-your-own', as well as beautifully made unique products that are eco-friendly, help the planet and are made in the UK.

We manufacture the balls in-house at our London mini-factory, where the kits are also assembled. Chamomile and forget-me-not flowers are relatively low-growing plants and so are perfect for growing in smaller pots, although they are still rich in nectar to support bees, butterflies and other pollinators if positioned outdoors. The seeds are sourced and grown from UK suppliers and are chemical and pesticide free.

The eye-catching colourful tin designs have been exclusively illustrated for Seedball, with the tins themselves being manufactured by the last tin can maker of London from Welsh-mined tinplate using solar power. The base of the tin is embossed with text: 'Tin can made using solar power in London, England. Please recycle me.'

The tins have been designed to be visually appealing and 'decorative', so that they look great on a windowsill, shelf, balcony or counter-top to help the tin to have many lives! They can be re-purposed as indoor plant pots for herbs, succulents or houseplants, or for organising pens, kitchen utensils, and keepsakes as a storage container. They are also 100% recyclable.

We intend to extend the range to include herbs and other wildflowers well-suited to life in pots, and we'd love to explore developing the range to include larger pots over time.
