The Bee Revival Kit - A keyring that keeps you prepared at all times to save an exhausted bee whilst at home or on the move. Inside the key ring shell is a tiny refillable bottle of specifically formulated bee food (ambrosia®) to save a tired bee.
Tell us about your business
Born from a spontaneous encounter with a tired bee, we launched Beevive in July 2019. Knowing how important bees are and how dangerously they are in decline, we wanted to do something to help. This is when we began designing a bee revival keyring to be readily accessible for the next time you meet a bee in need.
What can you tell us about your entered products?
We have entered our Bee Revival Kit, the first keyring of its kind. Our keyring contains a small glass vial filled with a specially formulated sugar and water solution to save exhausted bees or butterflies in need.
Why did you choose to enter Gift of the Year 2021 and has the competition helped boost your brand in the past?
We are still a relatively new business and have never entered any competitions before.
We choose to enter Gift of the Year 2021 because very quickly after launching we realised it had become a popular gift to help spread awareness, empowering individuals of all ages to make a difference.
Has your business been affected by Covid-19?
As we are an e-commerce site our business hasn't been significantly affected, during lock-down our online sales increased due to loved ones sending gifts to one another to enjoy outside in nature.
However, some of our stockists had to close during lock-down and we've worked alongside them upon re-opening to resume trade with Christmas fast approaching!
What changes have you made as a result?
We've re-developed our website to make it easier for our customers to purchase online.
We also launched the VIB initiative to reward those within our community with a 'hexagonal badge of awesomeness' to encourage positivity and to get more people talking about the importance of bees.
What other products have you brought to market for 2020, can you share them here? This year we were delighted to introduce our Beevive Bee Hotel, in partnership with One Tree Planted.
As we are very aware, the second biggest cause for the decline in bees is from habitat loss. Our aim was to encourage people to create bee-friendly spaces in their gardens for solitary bees to shelter, nest and lay eggs.
Our Bee Hotel is made from FSC certified wood and we plant one tree for every product sold!
Where can your products be purchased?
They can bee purchased online at www.beevive.com
We also have a variety of wonderful stockists across the country, so please do keep an eye out for our Bee Revival Kits local to you!
