For 2008, following extensive consultation with stakeholders, the GA has decided not to host a black tie awards dinner but instead to invest more in the promotion of the winning and highly commended companies.  The GA is keen to ensure that winning products are beautifully presented in showcases at trade fairs throughout the year and promoted to trade and consumer media.  A superb showcase at Summer Fair (ExCeL, 22-25 June 08) will reveal the 2008 winners.

 Key benefits of the competition include:

  • Entering the awards puts your products in front of a panel of distinguished buyers and independent retailers that you might otherwise not reach
  • Being shortlisted or indeed winning an award will significantly raise the profile of your products and your company.
  • Consumer journalists preview the finalist products at a major PR event “Christmas giftwrapped” organised by the GA.
  • The GA also conducts a major PR campaign to promote the winning products to regional and national trade and consumer press.

  • The winning company in each category takes away the prestigious Gift of the Year Trophy.
